A Very Busy Week!

This past week has been very busy with fun-filled events going on throughout them!  Every time I would think about posting, I would opt not to because I was sooo exhausted from the day!  I haven't even had time to work on my t-shirt quilt!  Chris had the majority of the week off which was so nice to actually spend some time together.  With his work schedule of 12:30-9:00 across town, and me working all day on at the vaccine clinics, we don't get to spend much time together.  This is pretty much what went on....
Tuesday-  Our 3rd anniversary!  Chris came in after midnight with a single rose and card.  In the morning there was a vase of 2 roses with another card, and then when I got back from taking Carter to get his haircut, there was another vase with 3 roses and a final card.  This was to represent our 3 years.  Then the boys had gotten me a Willow Tree figurine titled "Brothers" and he got me a leather bound journal since this is the "leather year."  The day began with Carter getting a much needed haircut!!!  Here is a before and after shot:

He practically had a rat tail!!

My mom then came over later that evening so we could go out to eat.  We decided to go to Joe's Crab Shack because I really wanted to eat crab legs.  We totally splurged and I got the Crab Daddy Bucket that had dungenous crab, snow crab and king crab.  It was awesome! Then we went and saw World War Z at the Alamo Drafthouse.  This is my favorite place to go see a movie!  What better place offers a waitress, food and beer while you never have to leave you seat!   We had a great time and can't wait to enjoy more anniversaries in our future together!

Wednesday-  We just hung around the house all day.  This was the only day this week that Chris had to work.  We dubbed it "Watercolor Wednesday." The boys painted with water colors and proceeded to paint themselves instead of the paper!  Then we made chocolate chip cookies from scratch!  Logan did most of the pouring so it got a little messy....Carter just ate chocolate chips :)  Despite my best attempts of devoting over an hour to upload the painting video...it didn't work!  I think the file was too big...?  Still figuring this thing out!

Thursday- 4th of July- We went to my mother's house for the 4th.  We had a somewhat lazy day but made it up there for dinner and popping fireworks.  We had a great time.  The boys love going to Grandma's to play and visit with the dogs.

Friday-Just recouping from staying out/up (if you are under 5) until 11 pm (I can't believe I left this part out of my original post!  It was one of the week's highlights!) Circus Day!!!!  We went to the circus this evening.  It was Logan and Gwen's first time.  Chris' dad and stepmom treated us to an evening out with the older kids and provided babysitting for Carter so we could enjoy the show.  This show was extra cool because they had a "dragon" themed program and Logan is totally into dragons. $22 later he has a dragon sword that is not getting played with!  All in all, a good time was had by everyone!  We even had an extra guest join us since Emery wanted to sit with Gwen instead of Grandma Terry!

Saturday-I worked a vet clinic.  It was extremely hot, but not nearly as bad as the week before.  We had 2 dogs test positive for heartworms, and one was diagnosed because I really pushed the owner to get it done since the dog had never been on heartworm medication.  Glad they did!  It's so sad!!  I hope people out there reading think about having your dog on heartworm meds if you own a dog.  It's so important!
Thank you http://www.greenbrookvet.com/Heartworm.html for the picture

Sunday- This is my dad and uncle's birthday. They aren't twins....born 5 years apart on the same day....what are the odds?!  We had dad over for dinner and birthday cake.  He gave me 18 concert ticket stubs that he had saved from the 70's-90's that he went to.  He wanted me to do something creative with them so that he could hang it up on his wall.  I think I did good!  He was happy!

As soon as he opened it some of the tickets had slipped off their mounted spot...I think this was because I tried to honor the request of minimal adhesive on the back of each one!  But I fixed it really quick and waalah!

Monday and Tuesday were spent in Port Aransas, Texas.  We had such a great time there, that I will need a new blog post for that!  It is coming....but I shall leave you in suspense!  For now we are debating whether we will go to Six Flags Fiesta Texas tomorrow or save the tickets we have for a Sunday (the only days we have a full one of as a family since tomorrow is Chris' last vacation day).....or possibly some other family fun thing....I think everyone has had enough sun and over stimulation.  Maybe we will go check out he dinosaur exhibit at the Witte Museum......guess we will see what tomorrow has in store!
